Savolinna is the brainchild of Hessa Al Shafar, an Emirati entrepreneur making a bold footprint on the contemporary jewelry design scene.

After gaining a Graduate Certificate in Public Relations and a Postgraduate Degree in Jewelry Design and Gemology at IGI—International Gemological Institute, Hessa’s exacting attitude towards bespoke luxury meant fine jewelry was the next natural step. Combining skills in creative management with gemstone expertise acquired from the International Gemological Institute, Savolinna Fine Jewelry was launched in Dubai in 2017.
Named after the stunning lakeside town of Savonlinna in Finland, Hessa’s emotional connection to the area was forged after her parents’ idyllic honeymoon, which inspired her childhood nickname, Savolinna.

Inspired by Dubai’s edginess and rich cultural diversity, each piece reflects Hessa’s unique perspective on how jewelry should impact self-expression while weaving intricate enameling, luscious gold textures, and exquisite gems.
Each Savolinna jewel is crafted in Dubai, with technique know-how underpinned by traditional craftsmanship.
